Yesterday afternoon, I went to North York General Hospital's Adult Eating Disorders Program for my one year follow-up appointment. Whenever I'm driving on the highway and I see the orange and the green NYGH logo from the distance, I think about the three weeks I spent there.  I left yesterday's appointment feeling a great sense of peace and closure but my mood was a stark contrast to the way I felt waiting for my initial assessment last year.  I remember sitting in the waiting room thinking "Holy crap, you're in ahospital!  That's it, there's no denying it now, you're messed up."
